Fire Safety Audit

With the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Authorities will no longer annually carry out fire safety audits of buildings to monitor compliance and fire safety.

The Fire Authorities are sample auditing buildings on a fire risk or building profile basis in an enforcement capacity only. Non-compliance with the Articles of the RR(FS)O may result in enforcement action which may result in the issue of an “Enforcement Notice” or “Prohibition/Restriction of Use”

It is therefore a statutory duty for the responsible person to ensure that the premises fully comply with the eighteen Articles of the RR(FS)O through regular Fire Safety Audits.

An audit is not an assessment of risk, but a compliance review of the safety provisions within the building.
