FIRE SAFETY STRATEGY

A Fire Safety Strategy is a complex strategic document designed to demonstrate compliance with the legislative requirements in relation to fire, Building Regulations Approved Document “B” Volumes One and Two and British Standard 5588.

The Strategy is designed to either accompany planning applications to the Local Authority Building Control or to Approved Inspectors with a view to providing the authorities with a document which details the designed fire strategy of the project and the fire safety engineered solutions employed through the use of “compensatory” features in the proposal or to provide the strategic fire safety information in order to acquire the project completion certificate.

The Fire Safety Strategy also evidences and satisfies the requirements of the HSE Enforcement Management Model, in particular Article 11 of the RR(FS)O 2005 – Fire Safety Arrangements, through a robust fire safety management framework which demonstrates all fire safety measures and applications referenced against enforcement criteria.
